This screen shot is an example of a modal verb, 'could'. It is come from the same book when I was looking for a reflexive pronoun. The book is called "Junie B., First Grader: Cheater Pants". The author of the book is Barbara Park. This paragraph is in the first line, page 29. The book was published in 2003.
