F.2 Weekend Assignment

The education minister is going to cut the secondary schools' class sizes next year, and there will be 36 students instead of 40 students in a class. Well, there are some advantages for carrying out this system, but there are also disadvantages too. Before I knew the actual information about it, I have neutral views with it. But after I know the detailed information, I overthrow the advantages that I've got. And I even think this system is useless.

At first, I think cutting the secondary schools' classes sizes advantages are: the class teachers will have fewer class businesses to handle, fewer students can have better discipline, and the teachers can take care of each student for more time. But, when I know the details of this system, I think these advantages cannot be advantages anymore. It's because these system only decreases a few students from each class, maybe 3 to 5 students. If the education minister wants the system's advantages to be possible, I think they should cut the classes into 20-25 students. And this will lead to have better effects.

But I still defied this system. And that is the disadvantages of it. And the most important reason I defied it is because I cannot meet many friends in these smaller sizes class. In my own mind, during this age, friends are very important for us. Knowledge is even not as important as friendship. If we're having more friends in a class, we can share our feelings with more friends, and that is one of the experience we shall have during these ages. Also, as a student, I think that there aren't any advantages for us. I've mentioned some advantages, but they are just advantages for teachers, not students.

That's why I don't agree with cutting secondary schools' class sizes.

History Assignment

The five qualities of being inventors are: imaginative, creative, sensitive to society's needs, breaking from the old ways, and foresight. I think Methodist College promote only two of these qualities, they are imaginative and creative.

Why I would say that? It's because there are many projects and designing homework in our school. These homeworks require us to have new thoughts. They can lead us to a creative and imaginative person too. For an example, in the Visual Arts lesson, we need to do a job called "VA profolio". This profolio is totally designed by us. We need to write the contents ourselves, draw some illustrations inside the profolio, and set up the typesetting all by ourselves. I admit that this job make me to become more imaginative and creative.

And for the other ones, like sensitive to society's needs, breaking from the old ways, and foresight, I think Methodist College can do none of them. For the first one, as in Methodist College, there is not any subject is about the nowadays society, lots of the students cannot sure what the society was doing or having any problem. For the "breaking from the old ways", I think it's because many of us was influence by the traditional thinkings of the grown-ups. Many grown-ups, have traditional thinkings and do not have enough bravery to brake old things. And the grown-ups are our parents, our parents influence our thoughts too. So, we cannot have brake the old ways and have new ideas too. We shall have our own thoughts and try new things too.

Computer Lesson

In today's computer lesson, I learned Touch Typing. The things that I was typing was the most basic keys on the keyboard. At first, It was because that I've learned typing before, I think that was an easy job. But I was wrong. Although the stuff that I was typing today was the most basic stuff, but I still made a few mistakes too.

I knew that I should be patient on typing. Although they were very easy, but I still need to improve my typing. I found out that I always did the most basic things wrong. I will try to improve myself next time.

F.2 History Homework

What are five basic qualities that a good inventor might have?
It's a difficult work to be a good inventor. Why I will say that? It's because the first, that is the most important condition to become an inventor is to have creative ideas. Inventors' job is to create new things, and that those new things are all design by the inventor himself(herself). If the inventor can't create any ideas about inventions, well, they may not have qualification to become a inventor.

The second thing, is daring to try. If an inventor does not have bravery to attempt new things. He'll never achieve success. Facing failure is a basic step for trying. It's an regular
phenomenon for a beginner, or even an expert. Many people, including me, had an experience of fail before. Like playing the electronic games too. Once I failed to pass a stage for several times, but I still kept on trying for a billion times. Finally, I succeed. If you've been try your best to do it, I'm sure there will be repay.

The third thing, is to have curiosity with all kind of things. Like Newton, a famous scientist, he was curious that why an apple will fall down from the tree but not lift up. So, he tried to find out the reason. He was a curious person. But it's all of his curious, he discovered the Force of Gravity. If a person is more curious, he(or she) may discovered more new knowledge that other people may not even attend with. An inventor should have this.

The fourth thing, is to never give up. Some inventors may be afraid of failure, and so they are not dare to try anything. But in other cases, some inventors may be impatience. They can't wait for success, but they still keep on dreaming about they are succeed. That's rubbish. Just dreaming can't help anything. To achieve success, instead of daring to try, is to have pulse that is not to give up easily.

The fifth thing, that is the last thing, is to listen to other peoples opinions and requirement. Inventing things is a kind of helping people, because inventors are inventing for improving the society. They are trying to accomplish the society. To accomplish the society, is to solve all the problems in the nowadays society. In order to know these problems, inventors need to understand different people's opinions and their requirement. If inventors invent new things that is useless for the people, that is just a waste. It's because nobody is in need with that.

F.2 History Homework

Which revolution does Hong Kong need?
I think Hong Kong doesn't need any revolutions at all, but I think Hong Kong is going on with the Industrial Revolution in nowadays.
Why I will say Hong Kong is in Industrial Revolution? In fact, it’s because Industrial Revolution was being continued from the 19th century to nowadays. There are not many farms or hand making workshops in Hong Kong. Well you may find a number of them, but I prefer there will just be a little. Most of the goods are made with cheap materials and in large quantities by machines of factory.

Don’t you agree with this? If Hong Kong isn’t in Industrial Revolution, I think the production of goods in Hong Kong will turn into the speed of dead slow. But nowadays most of the Hong Kong people care about
efficiency more than anything else. So Industrial Revolution is very important in Hong Kong.
In my own opinion, I think the Industrial Revolution in Hong Kong is very important to me too. Take an example, I need to have stationeries for going to school. If there's no factories, no machines, workers of Hong Kong will just make the stationeries by their hands. And then the making speed will be very slow, the supply of stationeries will increase. Or even, maybe, there will be a stationery panic in Hong Kong.
And now, let me explain why Hong Kong doesn't need other revolutions.
Hong Kong doesn't need the American Revolution, because Hong Kong people don't have any discontent with our government. The Hong Kong Government doesn't set any unfair rules, or compelled us to pay a large amount of tax. In fact there are some people discontent with The Hong Kong government too, but the number of people that is discontent are fewer, and there aren't as discontent as the 13 Colonies.
Hong Kong doesn't need the French Revolution, because there aren't any social Inequality in the Hong Kong government. As I had mentioned in the comparison last time, in Hong Kong, everyone have to go to work, but all of them can have leisure time for relax. That's fair. Also, our government doesn't face any financial crisis, because Hong Kong doesn't fight with any other countries, or cities. We are living peacefully in Hong Kong. The last thing is that, the government official doesn't rule us badly and our government isn't corrupt.
Hong Kong doesn't need the Cultural Revolution, either. I think the China doesn't want to lost Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, because the development of Hong Kong is prosperous, it may help to make China become a popular country too. Will China abandon Hong Kong? I think they'll never. And talking back to Hong Kong, Hong Kong has no reason to depart from China too. So Cultural Revolution will never happen on Hong Kong too.

F.2 History Homework

1) How did the colonists unite America?
It was totally because of the colonists discontented with the British government. The colonists discontented with the British rules, economic policy, and also the most important one, that is the political acts. Those acts were really very unfair. Britain stipulated that the colonists need to pay a number of tax to keep the team of army in North America. The army is protecting the land taken from France. But there were no reasons for the colonists to pay for them. So, the colonists set up The Boston Tea Party to protest the tax on tea. After this event, the British Government passed the Intolerable Acts to punish the ones who was in the event. This act made the 13 Colonies joined together to resist with Britain. Later on, they called the First Continental Congress to demand that King George III of Great Britain should end the Intolerable Acts. But Britain refused. The colonists couldn't bear it anymore. So, the war between the colonists and the British started. This war was called The American War of Independence. Two months later, France helped the colonists against Britain for wanted revenge for her defeat in the Seven Years’ War. A year later, the 13 Colonies proclaimed The Declaration of Independence. Holland and Spain also came to help the colonists too. The colonists finally defeated The British army. Afterwards, Britain signed the Treaty of Paris and recognized the independence of the Colonies. And the United States of America was finally born.

2) How did the legislature take part in the structure of the federal government?
Congress is the legislature. It makes laws for the Federal Republic and also can impeach the President. And there are 100 members in the Senate stands for the States and 435 members in the House of Representatives stands for the people's interests in the States.

3) How did the revolution happen?
The colonists weren’t satisfied with the rules of British, the economic policy and also the political acts. The acts
stipulated the colonists should pay taxes for the army for protecting the land taken from France. The colonists think that was nonsense, so, they held the Boston Tea Party to protest against the acts. But the British Government passed the Intolerable Acts to punish the ones who took part in the event. This made the colonists even not satisfied. So they called the First Continental Congress to demand that King George III of Great Britain should end the Intolerable Acts. But the British Government refused. Finally, the colonists were really very angry and broke out the American War of Independence with the British soldiers.

4) Why did the people in the Enlightenment object to absolute power?
The people in the Enlightenment object to absolute power because they were the thinkers had new ideas that believed that all people should have their own rights. Also shared an idea that all people were equal. They tried to use reasons to solve human problems and wanted to end all the unfair things in the society.

5) Explain one of the British acts that created economic discontent amongst the American colonists.
The colonists discontented with Britain's economic policy. It was because Britain got cheap raw materials and big market for her goods from the 13 Colonies. Also, she did not let them to produce things that would compete with her goods. That was totally not unfair for the colonies because they can have trade freely too, but Britain didn't let them.

F.2 Easter Homework

After reading "Number the Stars", I have some feedback would like share.

In the first chapter, that is “Why Are You Running”, Annemarie and her best friend, Ellen, also Annemarie’s sister Kristi are running at the street because of practicing for the races on Friday. Unfortunately, when she ran to the corner of the Street, she met two German soldiers.

At first, I think, “oh, too bad! What will happen if they get the soldiers angry? Will the soldiers kill them?” Luckily, the soldiers just ask Annemarie a few questions and told her not to run at streets and they went away. That was very lucky for three of the girls.

The soldiers were a bit of kind, but I think they were nonsense too. Why should I just walk on the streets slowly? Why couldn’t I run on the streets? That was my freedom. They couldn’t control me. Even in the nowadays society, I saw somebody running on streets when they were in a hurry. Sometimes even I will run on streets too. That’s nothing special. Although they said that was like hoodlums, I think that’s fine. If I like to be a hoodlum, that’s okay, also they can’t rule me. I hope they will not be so meddlesome.

History Assignment

In my own mind, I think that there maybe many differences between the 13 colonies and Hong Kong because I have a opinion that different people in different places will have different thinkings. so the two places will have different society system. But, it may also have some similarities too.

First, talk about some similarities I discovered. It is that both the 13 colonies and Hong Kong had been ruled by the Britain too. I think ruling by others were even worse than the Japanese. The Japanese killed some of the Chinese, but the British tried to took away our things, our properties, it's just like a robber behavior. That is our land. They had their own land, we had our own land too, how can they get our land? That's surely a kind of impolite.

And the even worst thing, the British enforced a curfew to Chinese. Only Chinese, but not others, but not the 13 colonies when they were dominated them. That's the most horrible thing I've ever heard. If I was enforced to be curfew, well, I may just want to jump off from the building and go to die. I believed that many of the Chinese may be disagree with this like me, too. Going outside is my freedom. Why should I listen to this rubbish rule? That's nonsense.

Secondly, talk about the government structure between the 13 colonies and Hong Kong. After the 13 colonies won The American Revolution, they had their own republic. It's the United States. They had their own government. And when the British is ruling Hong Kong in the early 1840s, they had set up the government too. This is the other similarities, so there is also some other differences too.

The names of the department of Hong Kong and the 13 colonies(United States) are a lot different from each other. For example, the legislature of the
13 colonies, is called "Congress", and for Hong Kong, the legislature is called The Legislative Council. And the names of the positions are different too. The head of the government in Hong Kong was called the Governor, and in the 13 colonies, the head is called the President.

And both system of United States (
13 colonies) and Hong Kong is still working nowadays, but maybe some of the system changed a little bit after so many decades. This is also a similarities, isn't it?

History Assignment

How to turn 13 colonies into U.S.A?
  1. First, the British passed the Intolerable Acts that made the 13 colonies believe that Britain would start absolute rule in America.
  2. After that, the 13 colonies demanded for ending the Intolerable Acts, but they're being refused. Both Britain and 13 colonies began to get in a catastasis(meaning: a exciting part before a big event happens).
  3. Next, the war of Britain and 13 colonies eventually started their war.
  4. Then, on the fourth of July, 1776, the 13 colonies proclaimed the Declaration of Independence.
  5. Finally, the 13 colonies defeated Britain. Britain signed the Treaty of Paris and recognized the independence of the 13 colonies. The 13 colonies finally became the United States of America.

Form 2 Weekend Homework

After today's entire day trip, I was dreadfully tired and even fell asleep on the bus going back home. I almost forgot to drop off from the bus. I'm with that horrible sleepy eyes throughout all day!

In today trip, I enjoyed the cable car the most. Although I'm very afraid of its highness, I even screamed out from the window. When I look down from the cable car, I think I was going to fall down, like the Ngong Ping 360 cable cars. And I even thought the cable car will stop on the sky for two hours, like the before case of the Ngong Ping 360 cables car. I was just like suffocate of just thinking these horrible things, then I similar to drop into a deep hole! And I even hug the pillar in the center of the cable car. Samuela and Hilda thought that was crazy.

I also enjoy for the lucky game I play today. I use many money for winning a toy I wanted. At last, although I was not lucky enough to win that toy, the worker in there gave the toy I wanted for a present. I was really lucky, I thought.

Later on, somebody had give me to watch a video that when Sunny was on the cable car. He was just like me, screaming out from the cable car and hug that pillar in the center of the cable car. That was a funny video.

I think this time I cannot be concentrate on learning those courses. It's because I just thought of what should I play next time, and I didn't learn well in the education program. I think I should improve in here. And I think being punctual is very important too, because today I was late for at least two times.

F.2 Weekend Homework

During this interview, I want to ask some more questions, like:
  1. Do you think the government give enough care to you?
  2. Is there any shortcoming living here(the place under the bridge)?
  3. If you become rich one day, will you buy a new house and depart from here(the place under the bridge)?

My Experience of Interviewing Beggar

Yesterday our group went to somewhere under the bridge of Yau Ma Tei and did the interview with a beggar. Before having this interviewing, I had a concept that most of the beggars or homeless people are dirty, impolite and whatever else bad. And my mum said that the beggars are worse than I thought. She said that they were ruder than the woman selling vegetables in the market.(As I know, the woman selling vegetables in the market is really very rude.) But after this interview, I think I was totally wrong. The old woman we interviewed was an affable woman.

The old woman we interviewed is called "Leung Ma". She was seventy years old, living with a little dog under the bridge. This little dog is even fiercer than the big dog living upstairs of my home.It always barked at us. But the dog is very cute, and it has a monkey doll on its back. "Leung Ma" has a son, called "Leung Chai". He was fourty years old.

Before "Leung Ma" living under this bridge, she has her own house which is far away from the bridge. Unfortunately, the neighbors lived next to "Leung Ma" treated her very bad. That makes me wondering, why her neighbors are such bad? "Leung Ma" was even older than them, and now she is even poorer than them, they should not have bias against her. But luckily, "Leung Ma" thinks that most of the Hong Kong people are better than her horrible neighbors.

Living under the bridge, I think it is poor. But she didn't grumble about it. I felt sorry about her. She said that sometimes she would sell some boxes in her "home", or keeping some things in her boxes. Both of "Leung Ma" and "Leung Chai" have some defects, "Leung Ma" always have headache, and "Leung Chai"'s hand was hurt. But they wouldn't like to see the doctor because they think that was dangerous. That makes me feel puzzled. Why would seeing a doctor be dangerous?

But after this interviewing, I really learn many things. I understand that beggars and homeless people needs lots of help . I think the government should be more concerned with beggars and homeless people. They should give more care to them. I also realized that I have much happiness. Compare with "Leung Ma", no one bias against me, I didn't have any headache, I have great neighbors. Even living in poor conditions, she had no grumbles. But I always grumble about many things. I know my attitude was wrong. I should give thanks to everything.

Computer Lesson

In today's computer lesson, our group did the flash assignment. It's a very hard work to finish it in such short time. I got into confuse since I mix up all the steps. I got a very enormous headache.

At last, we cannot finish it properly. But I think flash is a very interesting game. Also, in this storyboard assignment, our theme was "Respect teacher, Love teacher", I think we should treat our teachers well because they try hard to teach us.

History Assignment

Hello! I'm William Shakespeare. I was born in April, 1564 and the birthplace was Stratford-upon-Avon, Warwick shire, England. My father was John Shakespeare. Well no one knows the actual day I was born, even I didn't know it myself. And I was dead in the 23rd of April, 1616. On my death date, I was just fifty-two years old. That was really a pity I dead so early. I, was such clever. I married with Anne Hathaway in the 28th of November, 1582. On the later days, I got a total of three children. Their names were Susanna, Hamnet and Judith. Hamnet and Judith were twins.

I was a playwright and poet. I wrote many plays. Well, I can tell you some of them. There were comedy and tragedy. Comedy such as "As You Like It", "Twelfth Night or What You Will", "The Merchant of Venice" and "A Midsummer Night's Dream". They were the four most famous comedy. And tragedy, although they were sad, but they were terrific too. Such as, "Macbeth", "King Lear", "Hamlet" and "Othello". They were the four most famous. But I like another one, "Romeo and Juliet" the best. And some poems, such as "The Sonnets", "A Lover's Complaint" and "The Rape of Lucrece".

I was proud of my pieces very much. I wrote such great work. People even called me "Bard of Avon". But, maybe nowadays somebody jealous me. They said that I didn't write pieces myself. The pieces were wrote by Edward de Vere, or whoever else. I was shocked by this news. I was disappointed, and also sad. I hope they will not take away my name of "Bard of Avon". And I hope they will know that I wrote my pieces all by myself.

History Assignment

Why do Michaelangelo and Leonardo DaVinci are used as examples of Renaissance men? It's just simple. It is because they had great contribution to that age. They drew beautiful and colourful pictures. And those pictures helped to make the Renaissance became famous. The pictures were famous, and the pictures were painted by the artists, so the artists are very famous too. Then they became the representatives of the Renaissance, too.

I think the typical characters that we find in the Middle Ages were totally different from the Renaissance men too. The Renaissance men maybe have more artistic productions than the Middle Age. It is because after some time, people became more creative and may have more ideas in art. Besides painting pictures, they do some sculpting too. The theme of the art products were wider and wider. So, the Renaissance were much more develop than the Middle Ages.

Form 2 Weekend Homework

I think Moon Shadow was rather poor. Since he was only eight, at a such young age, leaving his original hometown and went to a foreign town. He didn't even know how did that new town look like. That's horrible. If I'm Moon Shadow, I will be feeling extremely lonely, nervous, or unhappy.
It is because of that all of the things we are familiar about is at our hometown, the place we've been there for grow up. We'll have inimitable feeling with that place, and the feeling cannot be displace by any other. And even our friends, if we leave the place that our friends are there, we'll be lonely. I've one similar experience.

When I was in primary 3, I was studying in WYJJMPS in Tseung Kwan O. That is the only place I got friends there. But my mother was looking forward to let me to study in Methodist School. I was sort of looking forward to, because my elder sister was studying in there too. She always made me feel that studying in Methodist School is fun. The only disadvantage was that I won't have any friends there.

Finally, I succeeded to go on Methodist School. I was really feeling lonely at that "nightmare". It last for a week or two, and I finally made some new friends with the classmates. It was a happy feeling too. The only worst thing was that, I'm still missing my old friends when I'm in primary 3.
I missed my old friends. I missed my old teachers. I missed my old classrooms. I missed my old school. I finally realized that nothing could displace our own feelings.

History Assignment

I think the power structure of the medieval society and Hong Kong society are similar but not totally are the same. In the medieval society, which is the past, there are king, knight, baron, peasant and slaves. In the nowadays' Hong Kong society, there are chief executive, government officials, different executive committees and different kind of job for common people. And there are also prisoners.

It is a little bit similar with medieval society. The chief executive are just like the king, he is the highest person in Hong Kong. He has the job to rule Hong Kong well. There are no fighting in between Hong Kong and other countries, so there are no knights. and the executive committees worked at different areas in Hong Kong, such as the observatory, fire bureau, lands department or the labour department. The other jobs, are for common people, such as businessman, teacher, student, workers, etc.. And the prisoners, there are few in Hong Kong, such as the slaves in the medieval society.

The nowadays' society was planned more detailed than the ancient days, and the types of work are more. Overall, I think it was better than the Medieval society.
